Outfit Ideas

Smart hijabi outfits come in all shapes, sizes and styles, here's one outfit I think is cute especially if you want a more discrete head covering for work. I would say the ears should be covered a bit more with the headscarf and a roll neck could be worn but apart from that I love it:

Celebrity Style Steal..Yassmin Mohsen

Young Egyptian model Yassmin Mohsen is my next style steal, her layered tees and colourful style is lovely and individual with just a hint of Egypt :D Here are some pics I dug up, most were taken by photographer Ahmed Abou-Zeid:

She loves her multi wrap hijabs, they are defiantly her signature style and I love the colour combo of this outfit:

Pink and purple, so cute and girly ^-^

I wish I knew how they get their hijabs like that! Egyptians have such cool wrap styles:

Ahh traditional Arab style, I love it :D

Here's a set I made a while back inspired by traditional Arabic dress:

Hmm, I'm not too sure about the next two though..

If you've read my previous post you'll know exactly how I feel about wearing a long sleeved top under a short sleeve dress, it's a fashion disaster. Don't do it to yourself, boleros all the way!

And the next..

Well animal print may be big this spring but this outfit is just not for me, thumbs down. Ohh, I heart this next one though! Long high waisted skirts are so cute but they're difficult to get hold of..

As it's her beloved style, I thought I'd put in a set inspired but the wonderful land of multi wrap hijabs:

More stealing of celebs' styles coming soon, Insha'Allah!

It's Quite Cold..

Anyone who is in the UK right now will know it's cold cold cold and very snowy. As it's expected to last the whole week, we had better get wrapped up warm so no maxis or cotton hijabs for now then, say hello to snoods and snow boots..

Amy Winehouse Beehive Hijab: Love it or Shove it?

I saw this headscarf today while browsing hijab fashions on the net and was reminded of English singer, Amy Winehouse. Although she's had her matted locks cut short now that she's in rehab, the beehive will always be her signature look. But could it be a hijab look? I'm not sure, I think it looks quite cool and quirky but maybe not for the everyday hijabi:

Spring-Going-On-To-Summer Outfit

Well, here it's actually winter going on to spring in a couple of months so I'm rather out of sync with the seasons but it's never too early to start planning your next seasons wardrobe :D

ASOS Day Dresses ^-^

I love ASOS for their wide and wonderful selection of day dresses. Of course they do jeans and knitwear and shoes and everything else but I've only ever ordered from the dress section, they are just screaming out to be hijabified :D Here are two of my most recent and beloved buys, it's always a bit poo when they go into the sale after you buy them but I guess that's just how it goes:

You can see I heart ditsy floral print :D (The waist band of that second one is adjustable from the back so I wear it much looser and with a cardigan on top.) Here are some other ASOS dresses from the sale section I certainly wouldn't wrinkle my nose at:

Pink Hijabs: Immodest..?

I came across this forum earlier talking about pink hijab day, mainly males saying pink hijabs were immodest and the whole idea of a pink hijab day was, and I quote, 'gay'. I've never never read such a whole load of rubbish in my life. Anyway, there was a poll where 44% thought that pink hijabs were immodest, 28% thought they weren't and rest were undecided. I mean there's one thing saying a skin tight pink dress coupled with a tiny little bright pink scarf and 6 inch pointy heels isn't hijab but to think that all pink headscarves are immodest is ludicrous and quite frankly makes me mad to think it was some stuck up man who wears want he wants that said it. On top of this, they completely ignore the fact that the whole point of pink hijab day is to raise money for breast cancer awareness, grrrrr! To prove these ignorant, judgmental people wrong, here are some pretty, pink and modest hijabs:

Not just a pink hijab but a pink abaya too!

Soo cute, I love this dusty shade of pink, I want that scarf!

Pink shamaghs all the way!

Smart hijabi, all in pink and still modest:

Muna's back, in pink of course and a cool tie-dye headscarf:

A very pretty and modest malay hijab:

And a pink prayer outfit for good measure, wonderful!

And lastly, a pink hijab outfit I made just for the occasion:

Hope you all like pink hijabs too! :D
